Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Questers and Schemers tables.

Viewers can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
