Heartbreaking Update on Cargo Plane Accident: Death Toll Climbs to 13

The total count of lives lost resulting from the transport jet that ignited and went down has risen to 13, as confirmed by official reports.

Mayor's Announcement

Traveling to the Union’s candlelight gathering, I received word of a 13th person that lost their life as a outcome of the plane incident,” wrote the local official in a online message. “My prayers are with the families, associates and peers of all who were taken in this recent tragedy. We will get through this as one.”

Casualties Identified

A release from the carrier named the pilots operating the aircraft as Pilot Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and International Relief Officer Dana Diamond.

“Our hearts are extended to all employee who has been affected and everyone in our community community – assisting you and ensuring you get the attention and assistance you need is our focus,” the firm’s statement read.

Investigation Findings

Federal officials revealed that the jet’s left wing caught fire and an engine separated soon after departure from the airfield, leading to the plane to crash and burst into a fireball.

The safety agency stated it is investigating the jet’s maintenance history, which was in Texas for repairs a period before the crash.

Aircraft data indicated the aircraft was on the tarmac in that location from 3 September to mid-October.

“We are aware that this jet was present in San Antonio,” said an NTSB member on later, not giving a precise time frame. “We will examine every piece of service that was performed, from the San Antonio period, straight to the day of the journey.”

Findings of Vital Items

The cockpit voice recorder and data recorder were recovered, and the power plant was discovered on the tarmac.

The recorders – called data containers – were constructed to survive collision damage and extreme temperatures from infernos, and they appeared to be undamaged when found within the wreckage. Authorities plan on examining information from the recorders.

Aircraft’s last flight details displayed an altitude of that level and a speed of that speed before the crash.

Repair Record

According to FAA records dated last month, a crack on a structural piece inside the center wing fuel tank required repairs.

Singapore-based ST Engineering, which indicated it supplies aircraft servicing for UPS’s jet and manages a maintenance center in San Antonio, refused to comment, but said it would cooperate fully when relevant authorities approached it.

Services Resume

At the same time, UPS Worldport services resumed that evening with its Next Day Air or nighttime operation, spokesperson Jim Mayer said. The three landing strips at Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport were additionally back in operation.

The UPS package handling facility in this location is the firm’s largest. The hub employs more than twenty thousand people in the region, manages three hundred flights each day and sorts in excess of 400,000 packages each hour.

Public Support

A gathering was organized on the evening of that date by the local labor union, which supports staff at the airfield, the firm’s largest shipping facility.

The union chapter, which represents UPS workers, started the memorial with a period of reflection at the evening hour, the estimated moment of the accident two days earlier.

“This incident was so sudden, so surprising,” the official spoke to the assembly of attendees. “No one had a opportunity to bid farewell to any of those who we have said farewell to.”
