Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following recent discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers but they might plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big and recent RB JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the defence to be on the field extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are having offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
