Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
