Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Vehicle Accident
Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.
The influential game designer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a highway in LA on Sunday morning, as reported by.
"We are facing a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's family, his loved ones, and all those touched by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
